Unfortunately although conditions seemed perfect last night the aurora was nowhere in sight.
We stayed up until midnight on the hope at least a faint glimmer would appear, but no such luck :-(
I then set my alarm for 2 am when the moon should be hidden behind the mountains and would stop lighting up the sky giving us a better chance to see at least faint glow. Tired I dragged myself out of bed, went out onto the porch and hopefully looked up.
The sky was completely covered with cloud. There goes our last chance of seeing the aurora as it's forecast to be even cloudier tomorrow :-(
In the morning, having had a disturbed night's sleep and the fact it had now started to snow, getting harder by the hour, we decided to stay in and relax.
By lunchtime the snow was lying on the ground. We had planned to go into Tromsø after lunch but neither of us much felt like braving the cold after our last visit where we ended up soaking wet, freezing cold and the possibility of a parking ticket!
So all in all not much more to report on today, and sorry no photos either!
